I created the Squawk Ident podcast as a place to discuss the many pathways to an aviation profession, the realities of what a professional aviator can expect in todays market, and to share many stories along the way.
I started out on my aviation journey a little later in life when I redirected my career path from a big-box retail manager to an aspiring airline pilot in the year 2001. With many obstacles to overcome, I started by earning my PPL at Double Eagle II Airport (KAEG) in Albuquerque, NM. I later attended PanAm International Flight Academy at Deer Valley Airport (KDVT) in Phoenix, AZ . After graduation, I obtained a job as an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor for Tailwind Flight Centre, LLC, out of Chandler Municipal Airport - KCHD. That led to a job flying an Emb-145 for a regional airline we at Squawk Ident call "Sandpiper Regional". I had the privilege of acquiring positions as an Assistant Chief Pilot at the LAX domicile, and a Line Check-Airman and FAC out of ORD.
Currently, I am on the Airbus A320 family of aircraft for a U.S. legacy airline we at the show call "Legacy Airlines". I am honored to have you join us in the Squawk Ident community where we discuss how to navigate a modern day career in aviation.
I am a veteran of the USAF, a former international and professional racquetball player, an RC aircraft pilot, a professional drone operator, a certified flight instructor, and an ATP rated pilot with type ratings in the EMB145, EMB 175, B737. I am currently flying the Airbus A320 family of aircraft at a "Legacy Airlines". I have over 20 years of flying experience along with 12 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
I enjoy sharing my passion for flying and all things aviation. I look forward to sharing with you my experiences as we discuss the aviator lifestyle on the Squawk Ident podcast.
I am a certified flight instructor CFI, CFII, & MEI, a former cargo pilot, a former Embraer-145 airline pilot, a KingAir instructor, a multi-typed corporate captain, and a Western Grebe bird strike survivor.
I have been in the business of aviation for over 18 years, and I have survived furloughs, industry fluctuations, economic crashes, and a whole lot more. I currently fly Dassault Falcons and G650's for a private operator based in the San Diego area. I look forward to sharing my experiences and my journey with all of you on the Squawk Ident Podcast.
I am a Chief Information Systems Technician in the U.S. Navy Reserves, a professional drone operator, a certified flight instructor, and an ATP rated pilot on the EMB-175. I currently fly for "Sandpiper Airlines", a wholly owned regional carrier for "Legacy" Airlines. I have been flying off-and-on for over 15 years, earning my CFI in 2018, thus kicking off my professional aviation journey.
I was an aviation child that grew up in the industry. My father flew the Boeing 737 for "Legacy" Airlines and retired in 2013. Loving the lifestyle and career my father was a part of, I decided to follow in his footsteps. I am also a third generation pilot. My grandfather flew for the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII and my uncle (dad's older brother) was a Naval Aviator during the Vietnam War. I guess you can say that flying runs in my blood.
I truly love everything aviation and look forward to sharing my journey and experiences with all of you. I hope to provide mentorship to the future aviators out there, just as Av8rTony has done for me.
I am a retired Army Colonel and Army Aviator, a certified flight instructor (CFI/CFII/MEI), a video game content creator, a very bad day-trader, and an ATP-rated pilot with type ratings in Cessna 500-series Citations and the Boeing 737.
I've been flying professionally since 1999, with experiences ranging from single engine piston tailwheel aircraft, to military helicopters, to transport category jets, and currently fly the B-737 for an airline we know here on the show as "Trans-Global Airlines".
Aviation is indeed a passion of mine, and one of my favorite things is to share it with other people, whether that is talking about it, telling stories, or encouraging people through mentorship and advice. I look forward to joining the Squawk Ident crew and talking about the journey with all of you.
I am a proud Texas native, rooted from an aviation family, and currently a "Legacy Airlines" pilot on the Airbus 321 family of aircraft. My family and I have had a long history of giving back to the aviation community, national armed service programs, and we are proud contributors to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
As a "Legacy" Cadet Program mentor I help guide young aviators on their journeys in the industry. Sharing my experiences with general aviation, corporate operations, and now mainline airline operations has been an honor.
I currently hold type ratings on: A320, CE500, CE560XL, CE650, ERJ170/190, and G4 aircraft.
I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you on the Squawk Ident Podcast.
