Ciao! I am Anthony Ciaravella, aka Av8rTony, host of Squawk Ident podcast.
I created the Squawk Ident podcast as a place to discuss the many pathways to an aviation profession, the realities of what a professional aviator can expect in todays market, and to share many stories along the way. On my journey thus far, I have studied film production, music, photography, and aviation. It has been a natural progression for me to gravitate towards producing a podcast that helps bring some perspective to those who our my passion for aviation.
I started out on the aviation journey a little later in life as I redirected a career path from a big-box retail manager to an aspiring airline pilot in the year 2000. With many obstacles to overcome, I started out by earning my PPL at Double Eagle II Airport (KAEG) in Albuquerque, NM. I later attended a flight academy once named PanAm International Flight Academy at Deer Valley Airport (KDVT) in Phoenix, AZ .
After graduation, I obtained a job as an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor for Tailwind Flight Centre, LLC, out of Chandler Municipal Airport - KCHD. That led to a job flying an Emb-145 for a regional airline we at Squawk Ident call "Sandpiper Regional". I had the privilege of holding positions there as an Assistant Chief Pilot, a Line Check-Airman, & an FAC. Currently, I am typed in the Airbus A320 family of aircraft for a U.S. legacy airline we at the show call "Legacy Airlines".
We invite all of you to the Squawk Ident community and join us on this journey where we discuss how to navigate a modern day professional airline career.
